Gay Catania | A guide for your gay travel
Catania has a flourish gay life. It’s a young and dynamic town, with many shops and pubs that give life to the historic center, among which there are various gay bars, nice locations to spend a pleasant night.
Catania is one of the most recent town in Sicily, due to its destruction in the late XVII century. In addition of the Baroque buildings interesting from an historic point of view, Catania gains appeal thanks to the splendid views on Mount Etna, the volcano that rises upon all the Catania surroundings.
Catania has also conserved proofs of its past, with the ruins of the Roman amphitheater, the Ursino Castle, a massive fortification built for Frederick II in the XII century, and the beautiful Bellini Theatre, dedicated to the great musician from Catania.
The baroque historic center of Catania has been signed in the World Heritage List of Unesco in 2002 as well as the Mount Etna in 2013. There are organized excursions to the craters of Etna, to have a close experience of the force of the biggest and most active volcanoes in Italy.
