Arrive in Florence and accommodation in a 4* Hotel. In the afternoon a walk around in Florence to breath its fine atmosphere.
This first day we visit two sites: Galleria dell’Accademia and Cappelle Medicee. Here we will see several unique artworks such as the Michelangelo’s David and the unfinished prisoners and sculptures by Donatello and Cellini.
You’ll get a knowledge about homosexual life during the Renaissance, how it was considered by the authorities and by the citizens, discovering very interesting particulars.
Let us continue with the fil rouge this tour follows: the homosexuality in Florence artists’ art. We are going to Oltrarno, Florence’s ‘left bank’, experiencing varied religious and sexy images just before crossing the Arno river again to head to Uffizi, the greatest museum of Renaissance painting.
Right here we will see stunning works by Botticelli, Leonardo and Caravaggio. Another museum, the Bargello, waits for us after the Uffizi, with other stunning artworks by Italian masters. Free lunch.
In the afternoon the main stops will be Palazzo Pitti, a famous and beautiful palace in the city center, house of an important fashion event during the year, and Santa Felicita, a church that surely worth a visit! Free evening.
